Ansar al-Sunnah Group Claims Operations in Kirkuk, Mosul, Baghdad, Hadithah, Al-Haqlaniyah.

On 12 December, a jihadist website posted 10 statements issued by the Ansar al-Sunnah Group in which the group claimed responsibility for operations in Kirkuk, Mosul, Baghdad, Hadithah, and Al-Haqlaniyah from 7 to 16 December 2006.

A translation of parts of the statements follows:

--"On 7 December [ 2006], your brave brothers, the lions of Kirkuk, shelled the Al-Bakarah base in Al-Huwayjah district, Kirkuk, with two Katyusha rockets. The number of casualties was not known. Praise and gratitude be to God."

--"At 1000 on Tuesday, 12 December [ 2006], your brothers, the lions of Mosul, killed a Kurdish security officer working in the Green Zone in Baghdad to draw support for the guards of apostasy in Mosul. Praise and gratitude be to God."

--"On Tuesday, 12 December [ 2006], your brave brothers, the mujahidin of Mosul, crushed a policeman at the command post on Al-Jisr al-Khamis in Mosul. This took place when he asked them to stop as they left after planting an explosive and crushed him and went through the command post safely. Praise and gratitude be to God." Read the whole article.
