MNF-Iraq goes YouTube!

Multi-National Forces-Iraq has gone YouTube to reach out more to the Americans who want to find out what is actually happening over in Iraq. We have heard from the Left, we have heard from the Right. Now let's here from the people who are actually there doing the work that will hopefully keep us safe and free for a very long time. Way to go, MNF-I!

Update: I couldn't resist. I brought you one to entice you.

WARNING!!!

There is no blood, but there are weapons (guns) being used. After all, they're not over there playing tic tac toe!

Hat tip: Pajamas Media.

Update: Nathan is kind enough to have an open trackback at Church and State this weekend, and he also has a great site. Please be sure to read the policy on trackbacking before you use it. Remember to be kind, and also be sure to stop by during the week. I appreciate your civility. :) Have a nice weekend.

BAGHDAD — A neighborhood north of Ramadi celebrated the reopening of a school Tuesday. Also this week, U.S. and Iraqi forces provided aid to citizens in Adhamiyah, and Iraqi Forces distributed winter clothes and blankets to students in Tal Afar Monday.

Iraqi Soldiers and Coalition troops joined the celebration in Ramadi, and community leaders asked Maj. Derek Horst, civil affairs team leader, 4th Civil Affairs Group, to cut the ribbon for al Haitham School. The school provides classes for the children of Abu Jassim tribe.

The school temporarily closed in November for renovations. Tribal leader Sheik Taher, who oversaw the renovations, led the group of military and community leaders on a brief tour of the building after the ribbon cutting. Full Story.

Operational Updates

I have been ill early this month, and that is why there is not that much written here. My apologies. What I have is from CENTCOM. BTW, you may also receive e-mails or feeds from CENTCOM. To subscribe, click here. For a feed to Press Releases, click here.

The NGAUS Notes are now available. I don't know what happened to the Legislative Update.

On the 20th of January, the Iraqi Army and the Multi-National Forces worked together and freed a kidnapped victim.

On January 23, 16 terrorists were killed while 10 terrorists were detained in raids.

Also on the 23, the Mine Countermeasure ship arrived in Bahrain [USS Gladiator (MCM 11)]. They will be taking over for two decommissioned ships.

Let us keep our fingers crossed for this cautiously optimistic good news: Iraqi Army Unit Gains Full Operational Independence.

The SecDef met with General Pace in Bagram, Afghanistan.

There is also an article about Air Force Maj. Matthew R. Glover. What a great guy!

This is a must read if you want to understand the enemy. Al-Zawahiri Video on Bush's Iraq Security Plan.

For each link, there is a link within them that will lead you to CENTCOM. They are the ones who wrote these articles. Aren't they great?! :)
